Moody Landscapes

Cole Scott, the photographer and my husband, loves dramatic variations in dark and light, known as chiaroscuro.   His latest work exploring that approach are below.  All but "Trax" are new this year.

Moore Reservoir

Trax

The Savannah Theatre

Two Geese

I like the bold colours in the second one (Trax). Makes an interesting pattern too.

The variations are dramatic for sure and take me right in to the scene.

I'm always amazed at how much drama lighting can add to anything: Painting or theater. These are great shots. Looking forward to more.

Love the photographs -- Savannah is a favorite travel destination, in particular -- I have a photo of the theater, but not as nice as yours!

All: Thank you for the comments. I just read them to him and he was most gratified.

Last night, we went to a local inn/restaurant with a fabulous space in their bar. My husband is their "featured" artist this month and they're showing fifteen of his works. Everything looked awesome.

He is truly gifted. My favorite will always be the boats.

Congratulations to your husband, whose work I have always admired. I love chiaroscuro too. You chose a really nice range for these four.

Love the final photo, and how the geese are barely visible, which reminds me of Jules Adolphe Breton's painting "The Song of the Lark."

I love those last two. As a hack photographer I lack the skill for such gorgeous light. Then the subject matter is pretty lovely too.
