I Love You Mom

I miss my mother every day.

She's been gone 15 years.

Every time I hear the song, "Stardust", my eyes well with tears.  It was her favorite.  She was from Indiana.  Hoagy Carmichael, composer of "Stardust" and many other great standards was also from Indiana.

My mother loved with an open hand.  She didn't judge me.  She supported me.  I did alot of dumb stuff as a teenager and twenty-something and she forgave me without condemning me in the first place.  I am sure she was dismayed by a number of my activities but she didn't show it.  She understood.

or my favorite rendition below.

Happy Mother's Day Mom.

It is so strange because I keep feeling this need to call her.  Maybe I should have my family not disconnect her phone for a
while so we can just call it and leave messages with the hope that she
will hear them.  I think you are right about it taking some months to accept that it has happened.  I get the feeling that one probably never recovers.  Someone told me that after 20 years they still wake from a dream about their mom and think she is still alive only to remember she is not, but that the dream in which they were talking to their mom made them feel so happy.

Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughts about what one goes through and I want you to know it does help.

God bless.

I can't say I ask her questions very often. Feel her presence? Yes that happens in a subtle way.

thanks for the reply.

I still speak to mine, quite regularly.  Do you?  It helps me.  I feel her presence sometimes.  I don't hear her voice but, if I ask a question, I usually receive an answer, in the form of a feeling.

It's a huge hole they leave.

My day was nice.  I enjoyed it.

I am so sorry to hear that.  It's a difficult thing to accept.  You always miss them.  It took me three months to really cry after Mother died.  I guess I didn't want to let go.

You may talk to her, however.  I talk to mine when I'm needy and when I feel joy.  It helps.

We just lost our mom last night.  I can see it will always seem like it was last night.  I truly now understand your pain.  Hope you had a nice day with the boys.

God bless.

Many people share many things in common.  Life is just like that I guess.  I wish we didn't share not having a mother around.  This Mother's Day also had me missing my mom.  Hope you had a good day regardless.
