Fantastic Mr. Fox

Since I'm now in the movie review business, here's another recommendation.

Had the great pleasure of watching "Fantastic Mr. Fox" this past weekend. I had never read the book. I had no idea what it was about. I usually approach what I view as children's movies with some trepidation, often expecting them to be overly saccharine or silly or something.

This is a wonderful movie. It's clever, smart, witty with incredible voice overs by the actors, all of whom fit their personae.  Most of all, it's wickedly funny.

George Clooney voices the wry & sly retired-from-chicken-thievery Mr. Fox, now a respectable family man and journalist.  Bored with his predictable life, he goes back to the old business, putting them all in jeopardy.

The soundtrack is lots of fun with a cool mix of oldies and original music by Jarvis Cocker.
