Theme Thursday Fire

Earth Wind & Fire is my favorite group; "September", my favorite song. Odd choice for TT? Not really. Watch this video and you'll have a great day no matter what.

When I die, if anyone is left, I want this played over and over at my gathering and I want people to dance.

Oh, yes! I love the idea of dancing to this song as a celebration!

I was at a huge party recently with a DJ no less and they played September. The most fun I've had since 1986.

Do you think the next theme will be WIND?

Willow, Tanna, Bryan, Pup: I love you guys! Anybody that likes EWF is okay with me!

EWF is the favorite singing group of my oldest daughter, I still have her total collection of albums.

Good choice for the theme.

thank you for stopping by. The sunset pictures were taken from my balcony at Hyatt Regency Mission Bay.

Couldn't access song for some reason but I love Earth, Wind and Fire. Good song choice for your memorial. I chose Stairway to Heaven and Spirit in the Sky. My sister wants Mr. Bojangles. OMG, there won't be a dry eye in the house.

Thank you reyjr, Kat, DB & Kitty.

Ronda: Mr. Bojangles is a poignant song but I associate it with the dog... you know, "the dog up and died; he up and died."

I love this song! So smooth, yet so upbeat and dance-y! I get it stuck in my head for days after hearing it. We're going away for the weekend and the hotel where we're staying has a band that is supposed to be like EW&F. I'm sure they won't compare, but if I can't have the real thing......

Nice - Did you hear/see Danny Gokey's rendition on "American Idol"? :)

Ha! just the ticket. Thanks for the comment on my post; it means a lot to me. It's a deeper issue than I'm willing to talk about . . .

California Girl, I think I'm just that much older than you - so my mind went straight to The Doors. I hope you had a great Theme Thursday.

My fellow commentators: whenever I am in a bad mood, I play this song. It never fails to cheer me up and get me feeling good! Thanks all.

California Girl said...

Wings: I actually did see that rendition and I NEVER watch that show. I stumbled on it last wk. Had to hear him sing it, expected to hate it, but, curiously, I liked it.

I see no reason to wait for your demise, so I'm listening to your health instead ! :-)

Cheered me right up! They have so many great songs! I can just imagine a full blown disco party goin' on at the end! Cool request!

Ok, ok. Pretty catchy tune, but they ain't no Arthur Brown. ;-p (*lol*)

Just messin' with ya. That's a seriously 'happy music' band, and a very good take-off on the theme.

I had been contemplating Earth, Wind & Fire for this blog. Glad they made it somewhere.

I love their songs and so many of the groups from that era. I pretty much just listen to oldies, so I get to hear this a lot. I want to thank you for posting this video. But my mind kept thinking if I was on a LSD trip would this be how I was seeing things. I want to watch it again. Could listen to this song again and again.

God bless.

Great music - thankyou for that, I am jigging on the spot....

You know, one of my first job's was selling ads for a newspaper, nearly gt sacked for too much enthusiasm-I sold a £250 display ad ( this was in the '60's) for a tractor driver!!!

California Girl said...

AD: you are so right and you can mess with me any time! funny funny funny about ARthur Brown (I still hear his opening scream)

Megan: keep on dancing!

Cuppa: yeah, they are the best. saw them perform last summer. Philip Bailey can still hit the high notes.

Mrsupole: LSD, you are in California! he he.

Delphine: glad to hear you are bouncing about. As for a L250 ad, wow!

This song reminds me of someone...now who could that be...SATAN?

California Girl said...

Cole: this is Satan speaking...
"I am the voice of hell fire and I bring you...."
