Mysterious Comments from "ed"

This morning I checked Gmail for new comments to my posts. I found four or five on various posts from someone with the profile name "ed". All comments were in hieroglyphics or html gobbledygook which, I hope is not a computer virus. I deleted all comments but felt the need to link to the name "ed" to read the profile. The creepy thing about that is, it says "Blogger since February 2009" and "1900 views". Nothing else. I'm obviously concerned.

Anything like this happen to you?

I haven't had this happen on my blog yet, but I've seen it on others. I'm assuming it is bogus or worse.

Yes, and also spam that is in chinese and one that is "I "heart" boys."

I can only hope their nasty energy comes right back to them. Didn't want their cuties - so didn't open their sites. May have to go to comment approval if it happens again. #@#$%$

Susan and LOL: thank you for letting me know you've seen this before. Creeped me out.

LOL: After making Blogs of Note are you more susceptible? I would kinda think so. (whack jobs)

Possible spammer? I get a few of these, but not nearly as many as I did, when using yahoo! My gmail spam takes care of it all( so far ). And here's the link to the H.H. post I did.

It may be a bot programmed to land on specific words. I notice I get porn type spam if I use words like 'gentleness' in the title of a blogpost (?!?)

Weird? yes indeed. I simply delete themand haven't seen any adverse consequences yet.

I've gotten these too and have deleted them. Wish there was a way to report these stupid spammers with Blogger account like we can report adult blogs.

Hi BM, Subtorp, RL and Mr. Thumb (I love that): nothing this week from the mysterious spammer or bot or whatever it/he/she is.

Good idea about having some kind of auto thingie in blogger to block it.

Hi California Girl. I did join up with the blogger help group, but couldn't get a straight enough answer. There are I.P. tools you can use, to block those addresses. You just have to take a little time to find them. I'm still working on it, for my end. Good luck to ya!
