Alotta Ones in 2011

My husband's birthday this year falls on 1-11-11.  My birthday falls on 11-1-11.  Tomorrow is 1-1-11.
I find this auspicious.  I want to consult a numerologist but I live in a remote place and doubt I'll find one up here.

Winter Tree I
by Cole Scott Photography

I am a touch superstitious or perhaps it's more fitting to say I believe in the significance of ordinary things that feel extraordinary.  I trust my inner voice and my inner voice says this is meaningful.

The question I have is, how do I find out what the significance is?  If you have any thoughts or ideas, send 'em my way.  Seriously.

and Happy New Year!

I have no earthly idea what it means, but it really freaks me out. I have a thing for numbers (I almost included this on my "ten things" list). I remember everybody's phone numbers, SSNs, and palindromic numbers capture my attention always. Like when the odometer number is the same backward as forward. And when I'm checking out at the grocery, if the amount comes out even (with no cents), I always have to remark on it.

I should ask my sister. I'm pretty sure she has several numerology books. She's into lots of psychic stuff, too.

Last year my daughter's birthday was 09-09-09,,,cool, huh. She was born on square root day...9-9-81. See? Numbers light up my life.

Very interesting! Powerful numbers! I think this is going to be a very big year for you. My birthday will be 11/22/11. Here is a website:

http://www.decoz.com/Masternumbers.htm

btw - you asked about what fish to eat - I think all big predator fish are currently overfished - swordfish, as you mentioned, tuna, mahi mahi, etc. But more importantly is to find what is sustainable in your area at the time you are about to eat it. The app works great from Monterey Bay Aquarium, but maybe they have ideas on how to access that info in other ways...

Let me know what you find out about all those ones!

Ah didz Google it: To clearly explain now, the meaning of 1′s is COMPLETION. You could also look at it as possibly something completing, ending or something that will have run it’s course and is coming to an end. With completion there automatically is something new that begins.
There, clear as mudz

It's a wonderful synchronicity, that's what it is! And whatever it means, I know it will be good, because ones and elevens are beautiful numbers. Eleven is a prime number, even. I'll be interested as the year unfolds to find out what will emerge.

Happy new year! What a great year you have ahead.

One is about unity, one is the number of focus, of beginning. In the tarot, one is the number of the Magician, she who has all her tools at the ready, and who engages in the tasks at hand with skill and finesse. The aces in the tarot refer to each element in its most pure form.

Eleven is the number of justice, doing the right thing. It's about balance, everything in its right place.

2011 is a great year for you. Mazel tov!!

Wow! Thanks for the quick responses from so many of you. Most people are buzzing that today is 1-1-11 so they are already on that wave length.

Susan: thanks for defining
"palindrommic" as I'd have been looking it up.

Nancy: I went to the web url you sent and it is interesting and lengthy. I'll quote a bit here: "...11 is the most intuitive of all numbers. It represents illumination; a channel to the subconscious; insight w/o rational thought; and sensitivity, nervous energy, shyness and impracticality. It is a dreamer..."
Whew!

kathrin: Thank you for visiting and commenting. Happy New Year!

Baino: I like that "completion" idea. I am ready for new beginnings RIGHT NOW!

DeeDee: That is one of my favorite Cole Scott photographs. I think of it as the "zen tree". He sells quite a few of these. Happy New Year to you.

Brian: you always have a positive spin. love it.

Djan: synchronicity is another good interpretion. I don't think mathmatically but 11 is a "prime number" and it's a Master number per numerology so it has alot going for it.

Reya: Thanks for getting back to me so quickly as I knew you'd have a take on it. Happy New Year and I'll keep those very positive interpretations in mind.

Betsy: another very positive person in my blog life. xo Happy New Year.

I think I'll write down all the interpretations above and put on my refrig and read every day. How could I have a bad day after that?

I agree with everyone. One's a prime number, as is 11. Prime is good (prime rib - case in point). You plus hubby plus today plus the new year = so much prime goodness!
Happy new year.

Hi! C.G.,
I believe in numerology too and in Native-American culture the numbers 4-7-9 are very strong numbers.

Hmmm...Now, when it comes to the numbers 1s I'am not quite sure what that means...However, I will do some research on the number ones...
Thanks, for sharing!

Could be worse. You may not have considered the fact of the upcoming 11-11-11. :) Happy New Year.

A reminder that we are always beginning, if that's what you choose (but I'm not a believer). Best wishes for the New Year.

Robin: I'm going to read up more on those "prime" numbers.

Dee Dee: you are a sweetie, as always.

Laura: Thanks for stopping by. Everyone should check out your painting a day in January.

gayle: it IS interesting. perhaps it doesn't mean a thing, but I prefer to think it does.

Game Store Guy: Welcome to my blog and thank you for the comment. I did consider 11-11-11 which is, I believe, the official Veteran's Day. I didn't include it because it isn't really relevant to me although plenty of family members are vets. Oh boy, now I feel guilty.

A.S.: You're right. We are always beginning. Wish I could remember that every day. I might be less of a pessimist. Happy New Year to you as well.

I don't know. My friend Inge might. She is into numerology. As for me, alotta ones sounds like alotta beginnings, fresh opportunities, wholeness, unity. The symmetry is so beautiful in and of itself, in a linear sort of way, that I find great pleasure in it, even without any attached meaning. I hope you'll share what you find with us. If Inge has any ideas, I'll let you know.

Cole's tree photo is just absolutely gorgeous, and incredible paired with your post. I would like a print of that photo on my wall. I love winter, I am a loner, I love the unity of it, everything . . . and nothing.

I love numbers, too, and have always given them significance, whether they have actually had it or not.

Ones and elevens are prime numbers. They strike me a creative and intuitive. I think they will bode well for this year!

Wishing you and yours all the best in the year of the ones!

Ruth: I like the "beginnings" idea. I realize I have to make my own and that's the part that is hard for me. I am often the one who hopes they will just fall into my lap (so to speak).

Tanna: All in all, the ones do seem to bode very well. My husband had his chart done many years ago, about 18 or so. The astrology lady who seemed pretty with it, told him he would suffer terribly with a great physcial problems and, if he could overcome them, he would find great success late in life. Interestiingly enough, he became disabled in 2006 and spent almost 2 yrs searching for a recovery. He picked up a camera again as a way of coping with his terrible pain. It was the best thing he could have done. He is now an accomplished photographer, his pain finally subsided, he is in reasonable physical shape under the circumstances and he has a new career.

Amazing! And, I'm glad of the ones boding well.

Eleven is "my" number also. It runs a constant stream through my life. I was surprised when I looked into it a bit. It seems your "life" number is based on your birth date. Mine just happens to be the 22nd. This totally blew my mind, because I've always been tied to eleven, but never knew why!

California Girl said...

Tanna: I honestly believe they will and you know what they say about believing.

Pat: the 22nd of what? January? tell me more!
