Always liked "Mother and Son Peeling Potatoes." You know the son had his fill of the same duty in the army, but with the changed setting, he's smiling. Classic.
Somewhere out there, you also know there's gotta be a Rockwell rendition of The Last Supper, where all the apostles are smiling as the turkey is brought to the table!
So quintessentially American aren't they. Lovely. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, I wish we had something similar here. I guess Christmas is much like it.
Wonderful stuff. Rockwell used the refined technique of the Dutch masters to convey the rustic innocence of Americana. Really quite a genius in his own way.
