Photo my husband took of the trusses and rafters comprising a new roof atop a building under construction. I like the lines, the contrast, the angles, the strong elements of this image. A roof has to be strong to protect all beneath it.
In case you think I know anything at all about roofs, I do not. However, there is a handy dandy site called Home Improvement Helper with a special section called RoofHelper that is full of information including: parts of a roof and roof types.
I learned something new after all. Thank you Theme Thursday.

That photo is very poetic! Lovely.
Thanks for explaining the photo...you are right, there is a lot of roof lingo; there's more under those shingles than meets the eye.
Beautiful shot.
beautiful shot. like the lines, as well. nice play. the shadows make me think a storm is coming, they'll need a strong roof.
Beautiful! I love the way the storm clouds seem to be saying, "You'd better hurry up!"
I'll bookmark that site, in case someday my husband lives up to his promise to build me a "real" laundry/sewing room!
Always good to learn something new! Great pic, too!
Neat pic! And you're right; there is quitea bit to learn, to building a roof :)
He's a lovely photographer (yeh I checked his site). We could do with him down here actually, Clare has an interior assignment and we're trialling a newbie!
Great pic.
My congrats to your husband. That picture is wonderful!
xoxo
Loved the contrasts. It almost looks like a charcoal drawing.
What A Fine Strong Photo!
Regards
Tony.
